Gale.png

Born from Aether, Gale is the element of wind, and represents perseverance and dynamism, a powerful force that can also be gentle and soft, and it is also related to freedom and new opportunities. Gale dragons tend to have an air of nobility and grace like no other, often having snobbish personalities yet also quite steadfast to help their allies.

Dragons of this element often discover it during their flying lessons, or during moments of new ideas, or when they must adapt or undergo changes in their lives.

Their primary use of their element is manipulation in order to boost their flying, but they may also exhale it into varying forms, the most used one being a strong gust, which is wild and unpredictable at first, until it becomes more focused with higher mastery. At first it may not cause actual damage safe for the objects that it pushes or carries away, but as a dragon learns to master and streamline their element, it can reach higher speeds and even become pressurized enough to cut through flesh at close distances.

Gale dragons also use their element defensively by creating vortexes of wind, of varying intensity, with the higher masteries being capable of summoning devastating twisters.

Another manipulation ability would be to “steal” the air from an opponent’s lungs, but this often requires being in close range.

With their expert command of the wind, these dragons are natural-born fliers, and often take on trading or messenger jobs that has them cross large distances with little effort.

Their place of origin is the Windstorm Crags Continent.

Physical Attributes

Gale dragons are tall, elegant figures. Most have proportionally long necks, legs and tails with slender chests that give them a decidedly regal appearance.

Abilities

Standard ability

Gale breath

A breathed stream of wind, which can either go straight ahead or be curved. It can even be breathed into a circular stream, creating a closed loop where targets will spin until released.

Effects

  • Push/Throw: Wind can only do indirect damage. This is mainly done by pushing an enemy into an object, damaging through impact or impalement, or throwing an object into an enemy. With larger and higher mastery targets, throw becomes the only option for damage - but even a low mastery wind can pick up relatively heavy items. At lower mastery, this is tricky to control.

  • Spin: When wind breath lights an enemy, it can be directed to spin the target around itself quite fast. This will cause not only dizziness but tissue damage through the speeds at which targets will spin. Once the user stops exhaling their element, the target may ekep spinning for several more seconds as a passive effect. Larger and higher mastery targets are harder to spin.

Fury

When a wind dragon performs a Fury, a tornado forms around them, winds sucks enemies in, spinning them and repeatedly slamming them to the ground before tossing them out violently. This causes severe damage to the area, as a mighty hurricane strikes the land. Windstorms and hurricanes may persist for days after the fury ends, or even stay permanently.
