Rûnnevhyr

TBD
Rûnnevyr are strong wingless dragons capable of harnessing the elements just like their winged cousins, but solely as manipulation, never breathing (not even if they hybridize)
History & Society
Rûnnevyr history is... uneventful, and this is mainly due to how their society is structured.

Distribution & Architecture
Rûnnevyr aren't a very widespread race, mainly because they are earth-bound, and will often loathe anywhere that isn't solid ground. Even Tidal drakes prefer submerged cave systems and islands, never venturing into deeper seas. While Gale drakes are the most adventurous of all, yet despite their connection to the air, they still much prefer to remain near solid ground. Their architecture is often square and straightforward, very conservative and super efficient, but they will pamper the hell out of temples and communal spots They also love communal baths, which is a very important social ritual for them
Lifespan
Drakes have the same lifespan as their winged cousins

Biology & Physiology
Rûnnevyr share almost the exact same biology as winged dragons but with a few differences:
Lack of wings, obviously. What they lack in flight capabilites, they make up for in sheer, muscular stength. Their scales are tougher, thicker; their bones larger and more dense; their horns and hard growths are denser too, same as their muscles etc... They are true living and breathing biological tanks
Elemental Manipulation: while they will never be able to breathe an element, they are very much attuned to the elements of the world just like their cousins. Both Aether and Nether. There are no known recorded cases of Neutral element-aligned Rûnnevyr however, (same for all other non-winged dragon races), which to this day greatly puzzles the highest scholars and masters.
Markings: Rûnnevyr feature elemental markings too, but this is ironically rarer. Instead they will display more natural patterns, still themed after their element, but not actual markings.
Height and Weight: they are often shorter than their cousins, but twice as heavy
Variants: Rûnnevyr do not have variants per habitat and instead, they have variants per element alignment, sharing the same exact trait patterns as their winged cousins.

Reproduction
Rûnnevyr are a lot more familial and wholesome when it comes to expanding one's family or creating a legacy worth knowing.
They have a manner of respect regarding this, which winged dragons are far more lax about or worse: extrenely elitist about. Rûnnevyr however only unify and mate for love. Doing it out of politics is frowned upon, even though it may still happen, specially between high castes or high and lower castes in a wish of increasing one's wealth, but not out of "pedigree" or "breeding finesse".
With romance put first, they make a show out of it often but in a natural manner: they simply do not shy away from expressing their love and devotion, and are open and respectful about courtship and romance as a whole.
Unities are also seen as sacred to them, something the Celestials must always oversee, sharing the same cultural importance with their winged cousins when it comes to faith and religion.
They do not present gender dimorphism, with females looking as strong and chiseled as males.
Eggs
When it comes to eggs, Rûnnevyr only have 2 eggs, but in some very rare cases there has occured a freak event in which a dame laid more than 6 eggs. This is caused by a magical imbalance, which is attributed to their closeness to the magical veins of the world as this has only happened within castes living undergrouns close to one of said veins of magic. The hatching and lifespan is the exact same as other dragons.
Same Gender Couples
Regarding queer relationships: Rûnnevyr are extremely open and accepting, as long as it is all based on honest and pure love. They have a deep-seated disdan for any who would turn queer matters into "sexualization" or a kink, seeing it as disrespectful of sacred bonds.
Interracial Relationships
About interracial relationships: Rûnnevyr are surprisingly proud, and they have a certain disdain for their winged cousins, not only due to their moronic disdain for them for simply lacking wings, but also due to their abysmal cultural differences. Dragons see them as beasts, stupid, all brawn and no brain. Rûnnevyr see them as pompous bastards more worried with wine and ink than the real problems of life.

Politics
Rûnnevyr do not participate in the overly complex hellscape of Elder Clans, Senate Clans, High Clans, Low Clans and Clanless. Instead, they founded their own social system that still observes a certain social standing, based not in bloodlines or wealth, but skill and craftsmanship quality, considering their culture is all about the crafting and creating.
They live in families and small communities, they lack the intricacies of high draconic society, and instead they share a rather peaceful social life.
Feuds still occur of course, disagreements and even fights still take place, but none in a large scale.
Thus their social sistem is that of Castes:
-
High Caste: often considered the "nobles" due to their more wealthy status gained from their profits of creating masterworks. They all still have a hyerarchy in which the Council of Seven Peaks, made of the most important Castes in their continent of origin, make the bigger decisions that affect all of their kind.
-
Middle Caste: the families of skilled smiths, artisans, miners, merchants and warriors. They are highly respected and often employed or sponsored by the High Castes
-
Lower Caste: the subservient families, usually bartenders/barmaids, barkeeps, cooks, etc... still considered lower nobility despite this, as even the highest Caste knows that they cannot function without someone reliable to take care of the more mundane tasks. The Lower Castes are often sponsored too.
-
Castless: you gotta be a real piece of work to end up castless... or someone smeared your name so hard you ended up exiled from a society that gives every one of its members a purpose. Castless are seen as the literal scum of their cozy and familial society, treated worse than enemies: as traitors to the peace and sacres trust between community members
