Soulweaver is a unique element born from Nether that allows dragons to draw from the world's lifeblood itself, also known as spirit energy.

Spirit energy, or Soul energy, is the unique energy a living being naturally generates until its death. While Aether and Nether create life, Spirit energy keeps them alive.
It can be used to both give and take life, but also to affect other living beings.

Soulweaver dragons are capable of harnessing this misunderstood element in many ways, with the most expert ones capable of siphoning or saturating the spirit of other living beings, with the success depending on the targets' complexity and the dragons' mastery. This effect causes an imbalance within their very soul, and the target will be weaker, more sluggish, and vulnerable.

The only dragons that are not affected by oversaturation are other Soulweavers, but all Soulweavers are vulnerable to siphoning, which is why dragons of this element are taught to control their element as early as possible to prevent unfortunate accidents.

Soulweavers discover their element usually when they lose something dear to them. It is an element that is greatly fueled by feelings of loss and anguish.
It is not uncommon for hatchlings to have their favorite toys or friends taken away in an attempt to trigger their Awakening.

This element is primarily used via manipulation, but it can also be breathed in a few different ways, such as a torrent of spirit energy which will either help or harm a creature depending if the intention is to give or take their spirit.
They may also create a spirit garrote, which if landed correctly, will stagger an opponent and bind them, allowing the dragon to pull them closer for close quarter attacks.

Another breath ability is the condensation of spirit energy into orbs which will either seek out their target and hit them with saturation, or draw energy from them and return it to the user.

Manipulation oft consists of infusing creatures or even inorganic creations with spirit energy, even those that have perished, creating either Draugr or Ghouls depending on how this process was done, or Golems for targets which are inorganic.

For this goal, Soulweaver dragons may gather Spirit Gems, which grow naturally in the wild and aids them focusing spirit energy to power Golems.

Another manipulation technique is to create ghastly-looking limbs that replace lost ones, and act as if they were solid, mirroring the lost limb perfectly. They cannot create new ones however.
How long they can mantain the summoned limb depends not only on mastery but also on their own strength of Spirit, and for this, they tend to fashion Spirit Gems to act as batteries without exhausting their own mana.

      • A thin, smaller ring separating the pupil from the outer design

    • Details: Represents domination of structure, soul control, and unnatural design.

  • Views On Others:

    • Wardens: Enemies. Consider them zealots clinging to delusion.

    • Forgemasters: Animosity. Consider them asinine rivals with the resources they lack.

Soulweaver dragons have always been very few in population ever since the First War, having been unable to recover properly, especially since they are one of the most shunned elements.

They hail from the Mystic Reach, a land known for its very unique flora and fauna, and bioluminescent biome.

Colors, Features & Markings

Colors

Element colors present such a wide array of hues that their classification is not by color, but by effect, with only three exceptions detailed below.
This is an element that may sport natural multicolored breath.

These dragons are the paradox of their kind, often having the brightest colors, but they may very well have dark colors too. They seemingly follow no rules besides a natural "ethereal aura".
Their most remarkable feature are their naturally occurring runes and glowing markings.

Chromatic:

  • Red: all hues from yellow, to orange, and red.

  • Green: all hues from lime, to green, and teal.

  • Blue: all hues from cyan, to blue, to purple.

Multicolor

The base color may differ from the center.

White

Seen as the tainted soulweavers, they are prosecuted by their own kin, yet often given asylum by dragons of Aether alignment. Ironically, this tends to end badly, as soulweavers will lack training in their element, and may accidentally syphon someone’s spirit energy.

Black

Considered the purest variant, black soulweaver dragons are often looked upon with the most mistrust in all of dragonkind, often called the deathbringers. Even though their colors have nothing to do with their personalities.

Features

(â—‡ exclusive to pure lineages and cannot be passed down to impure generations)

  • Ghost Glowâ—‡: When the tips of membranes or growths glow or are transparent.
Their scales overall have translucence to them, and while in daylight they appear to "shine", at night they "glow" slightly.
This glow can be toned down at will.

  • Veil Wings: Soulweaver dragons are very easy to spot due to their uniquely shaped wings that sport growths, often resembling veils, which adds to their mystical appearance, almost otherworldly.

  • Opalescenceâ—‡: With highly reflective scales, Soul dragons are capable of sporting naturally colorful and shiny scales.

  • Third Eyeâ—‡: Pure Soulweavers possess a Third Eye on their forehead, a mark of their spiritual attunement. This Third Eye doesn't have a distinctive pupil usually, but it can have a "glow" that looks like one, and often appears to follow the beholder (independently of the other two eyes) which is very unsettling to non-nether beings.

  • Unique Pupils: Soul dragons may also have a third eye, which helps them see a dragon’s spiritual aura. The pupil shape of this eye can vary depending on which of the three variants they are.

Markings

Soul dragons feature runic markings of three types depending, on the dragons' variant.
These runes are often words that have a high significance to the dragon’s life, and they may change with age.
They may glow with bioluminescence when they are using their element or at night time.
Halfer Souldragons may have markings that resemble runes but will not be legible at all.

In some rare cases (such as Elder Keeper Sitar) they will lack rune markings, but will still have biolumenescent ones.

Physical Attributes

They are the most fragile of all dragons due to their thin scales and usually thin and lithe constitution, even more so than Fear.
