Born from Aether, Storm is the element of electricity, and it is a rather unpredictable element, as well as the most aggressive, and so dragons of this element are often conflictive, hyperactive, impatient, and tend to be quick in both air and land.

Storm dragons usually discover their element when shocked emotionally, or when they have a burst of adrenaline.

The way electricity is breathed is through lightning bolts, which often branch out and with experience, become more focused as well as stronger. It can also paralyze enemies or even stop their hearts entirely, depending on both the target and the dragon’s elemental strength, however, lightning cannot light things on fire despite its high temperature which can even leave burn damage.
At higher masteries it is known to shatter through solid matter even, and with further experience they may control where exactly the electricity goes in order to simply paralyze an enemy or stop their heart, which requires focus and being closer to their target.
With more practice, dragons learn to breathe multiple bolts, and thus hit several targets, but this causes their element to also divide in strength.
The manipulation of electricity often consists in creating lightning “whips” or arcs that may strike several opponents at once, as well as creating a protective AOE that will strike everything in its range, often acting as a protective shield that will follow the dragon and snap against any nearby target.
Above Disciplined mastery, they’re able to affect natural storms, however only Zeniths may summon storms themselves.
Due to their ability to affect the natural static electricity of the world, Storm dragons are at their strongest in regions where storms happen most often, with their preferred continent being Resurgent Skies, where they may draw from their environment rather than having to produce electricity themselves.

Storm dragons are often found in a variety of climates, and it is a very adaptable element.
Anywhere where it is stormy they have an edge over others.
Colors, Features & Markings

Colors
The most contrasting of all elements, Storm dragons enjoy the full color spectrum also, often being bright with darker secondary colors. The core will always be brighter than the main color.
Chromatic:
-
Red: all hues from yellow, to orange, and red.
-
Green: all hues from lime, to green, and teal.
-
Blue: all hues from cyan, to blue, to purple.
Multicolor
The base color may differ from the center.
White
Be it core, main, or both, this is the rarest variant and possible only in pure blooded lineages.
Black
Be it core, main, or both, this variant is often regarded with extreme prejudice, since Storm dragons tend to be conflictive by nature, and this color is proof of dark blood. It occurs when a Storm dragon crosses with a dark element, and the dragon is born of Aether alignment, but is tainted by its Nether heritage.
Features
(â—‡ exclusive to pure lineages and cannot be passed down to impure generations)
-
Frills & Spurs: Storm dragons often sport frills and spurs, with jagged or sharp edges that resemble lightning.

-
Vents: They may also sport glowing vents between plates, or in front/between ribs.â—‡

Markings
Storm dragons have markings that are often a mix of zig-zags, sharp points, and/or
curves, always resembling lighting, which can be Natural or Stylized.
Physical Attributes

Storm dragons are usually lean yet quite athletic, being the most active physically of all dragons.
Abilities

Standard ability
Lightning breath.
A Storm dragons' primary attack is to breathe one or multiple bolts of electricity, which can be done in a steady electrocution or in bursts which cause more impact than shock, able to shatter stone at higher mastery. A skilled Storm dragon may control their element to a point in which they may chose to cause damage from heat rather than electrocution, both, or viceversa.
At lower masteries, these bolts will be thinner and have lower reach or less branches, while at higher, they will be thicker, with further reach, and capable of having more branches.
The more branches a bolt has however, the less reach and strength it will have as the power is divided.
Bolts are often erratic and hard to aim, seeking organic targets or metals within range.
At Tier 1 to 3: single bolt.
Tier 4: one or two bolts.
Tier 3 to 6: one to three bolts.
Tier 6 to 7: one to four bolts.
Tier 9: one to five bolts.

Effects

-
Shock/Paralysis: electricity painfully seizes the muscles in an organic target, rendering them unable to move and killing them slowly. At higher masteries, reaching vital organs becomes easier, and the smaller the target, the easier it is to kill with this element. Larger enemies or more elementally/magically powerful targets will resist or be unaffected by paralysis. Depending on mastery and the target, paralysis can linger as a passive effect after the user stops attacking.

Offensive

-
Heavy Impact: electricity moves extremely fast when exhaled, dealing more damage upon initial impact than it does through shock. At Tier 2 a storm dragon can chip rock and splinter wood. A Tier 9 the wielder can shatter giant boulders and disintegrate trees and smaller living beings.

-
Throw: when a storm dragon's electricity hits a target, they can direct their element to “throw” them, and the smaller the enemy and the more powerful the user, the farther they can be thrown. Larger enemies or more elementally/magically powerful targets may only be tugged at or pushed over, rather than outright thrown.

Fury
When a Storm dragon uses its Fury, the air around them crackles with violent static energy, as a powerful thunderstorm forms above and strikes everything in a very wide range. The lightning from these storms is fatal and it naturally strikes living targets or where the dragon concentrates them.
Another way a Fury is performed, is by the dragon concentrating electricity around them in an extremely powerful aura, and then lashing out with its might against their target. This area of effect is far less wide yet far more dangerous, as anything close will be reduced to smithereens due to the extreme power of the concentrated energy. If it is performed by a dragon of highest mastery, it may even split solid targets and create small rifts.
